Become a Cheetah

Luo Qiao and the two cheetah cubs, Luo Rui and Luo Sen, waited for several hours, but no prey appeared. The vast expanse was desolate and bleak.
"Papa, I'm so hungry."
Luo Qiao licked Luo Rui. He was also hungry, but there was nothing for them to catch and eat. This life was truly miserable.
Leading the two cheetah cubs down the rocks, Luo Qiao planned to try his luck at the edge of their territory. Perhaps they could find a rabbit or something there.
As for warthogs, since the last one in their territory was killed by Monty and ended up in their bellies, they wouldn't have any more pork for a while, unless another family moved in.
While walking, Luo Qiao suddenly thought of his neighbor whom he had met once. Where did that giant python in their territory live? If it was in a burrow, could he find a way to kill it? It would make a good meal...
Speaking of which, can cheetahs eat pythons?
The python, who was sound asleep in its burrow, suddenly felt a chill behind it. It moved its head in confusion. Wasn't it a cold-blooded animal? Why did it have this feeling?
Luo Sen and Luo Rui had no idea what Luo Qiao was thinking. Although Luo Qiao had told them that they could consider their legless neighbor as backup food, the two cheetah cubs had no concept of catching a python to eat.
They had once encountered a golden cobra, a non-venomous snake that hid in the dry yellow grass and was impossible to spot without careful observation. Luo Sen almost stepped on its tail. Luckily, his sixth sense saved his life.
After Luo Qiao led the two cheetah cubs more than ten meters away, they could still see the snake's raised upper body and flattened neck.
Luo Qiao didn't know many venomous snakes. The golden cobra was one of the most venomous. There was also the black mamba, whose mouth was black when opened. It was so venomous that you had to go around it if you saw one.
The two cheetah cubs had no real impression of venomous snakes. Unless they actually encountered one, they would never know how dangerous these long, slender, legless creatures were.
Even a lion could go blind or even die if sprayed with venom. Some could recover through their own metabolism, but cheetahs could not.
"Listen, curiosity is fine, but the premise is that it cannot endanger your life."
Luo Sen and Luo Rui would firmly remember what Luo Qiao said, but beneath Luo Qiao's serious exterior was still an unreliable heart. Would a normal cheetah think about catching a python to eat? Would it? Was this a sequelae of eating too much leopard saliva?
The python, still digesting its last meal, coiled its body tighter again. It wasn't feeling lonely, but cold.
Luo Qiao's territory boundary was marked more than ten days ago, and now the scent had almost dissipated. Taking the opportunity of looking for prey with the cheetah cubs, Luo Qiao once again left obvious scent markings on some tree trunks and rocks. However, doing this uncivilized behavior in front of the two cheetah cubs still made the cheetah father's ears feel hot.
Well, he would get used to it.
Nonsense, he probably wouldn't get used to it even on the day his sons grew up and left home!
This behavior of marking territory was something every cheetah had to learn. There was absolutely no way to let the two cheetah cubs turn their backs. For this reason, the cheetah father could only droop his ears and shed tears.
Was raising children easy? Whoever said it was easy, he would argue with them!
Luo Qiao left to look for prey and unfortunately missed Parson and Jairo, who had come to the rocky hill to find him. Parson saw the newly laid dry grass in the rock cave and smelled the familiar scent around the rocky hill, confirming that Luo Qiao was safe and sound, which relieved him somewhat.
Parson and Jairo discussed whether to look for Luo Qiao and his sons or return to their territory.
Although the older brother usually made the decisions, Parson would not ignore Jairo's opinion. In the end, the two brothers followed Luo Qiao's scent and tracks.
There was no way around it, who told Luo Qiao to be busy marking his territory? This clearly told the trackers that the target was ahead, go forward!
Luo Qiao didn't know that Parson had come looking for him. He and the two cheetah cubs were hiding in a tall patch of grass. Five hundred meters ahead, two male lions were fighting.
No wonder no animals came over today...
No animal would dare to provoke lions when they were fighting. Anyone who didn't want to be affected would stay far away.
As long as the wind direction didn't change immediately, the lions wouldn't notice the cheetahs hiding in the grass.
Luo Qiao originally wanted to turn around and run. He had already led Luo Sen and Luo Rui to lower their bodies and move a distance away when he saw a continuous stream of lionesses approaching.
This was not good news. The male lions were busy fighting and wouldn't notice him, but the lionesses might. Attracting their attention would surely lead to a dangerous situation. For the present, they could only hide and wait for the lions to finish fighting and leave.
Before that, the father and sons had to continue to go hungry. It was said that when gods fight, mortals suffer. Here, when lions fight, cheetahs go hungry.
There was no necessary connection between the two, but reality was so twisted. He somewhat understood the feelings of the ground squirrels he bullied.
The two cheetah cubs were as nervous as Luo Qiao. They huddled tightly beside Luo Qiao, lowered their heads, pressed their ears back, and hid the bright spots behind their ears. Lying there like that, almost no lion would notice them.
Nas and Oros were fighting fiercely. The strong bodies of the male lions collided like two small mountains. They supported themselves with their hind legs, raised their front legs, and slammed their huge paws fiercely at their opponents, trying to knock them to the ground. In their wide-open mouths, four sharp fangs were clearly visible. Their thick manes flew and swayed with their movements, fully displaying the power and might of the male lions.
Nas was almost evenly matched with Oros, but only almost.
After several rounds, Nas was finally thrown to the ground by Oros. Oros continuously tore at him with his fangs and claws. Nas struggled to resist. Although he was knocked down, his back was pressed against the ground, and his front and hind paws waved at Oros together. His fierce counterattack made it difficult for Oros to gain an overwhelming victory for a while.
The roars and fighting of the male lions attracted the lionesses from their respective prides. Generally speaking, when male lions from the same pride fought, the other male lions would step forward to help.
They were partners, guarding the common pride and territory. But Felix and Ero were not like that. They just watched Nas and Oros fight, without any intention of helping.
Nas was no match for Oros, and neither were they. Perhaps next year, if the brothers joined forces, they could contend with Oros, but now, going up would only result in them being beaten together. However, although Oros was strong, it was not easy to kill Nas, who was almost his equal in weight.
When Oros went for Nas throat for the third time, Nas finally seized the opportunity, stood up, turned around, and ran away.
Oros chased closely behind him. The lionesses of Oros's pride had long-standing hatred for Hosby's pride. They had never forgotten the vicious behavior of the lions in that pride attacking them and even trying to kill their cubs. Seeing Nas being beaten and fleeing by Oros, they immediately swarmed forward. Their target was the lionesses of the other pride.
Thus, a one-on-one fight evolved into a group brawl between the two lion prides. Although the lionesses' fighting was not as shocking as the male lions', it stunned the three cheetahs hiding in the grass. For no other reason than that these strong females were even more ferocious and ruthless!
One lioness from Hosby's pride was almost scratched like a fishing net, and another's tail was nearly bitten off. The lionesses of Oros's pride, relying on their numerical advantage, almost completely overwhelmed the lionesses of Hosby's pride.
The cubs of Oros's pride hid in the distant bushes, watched over by two younger lionesses. This kind of inter-pride battle was the best learning experience.
Oros seemed determined to kill Nas and Felix and Ero could no longer stand by. The two young lion brothers had no way to confront Oros head-on, but they could occasionally launch sneak attacks. Nascould take the opportunity to catch his breath and save his life.
Lions have volatile tempers. The fight started quickly and ended just as quickly. There was no drawn-out struggle. When Hosby's pride realized they were no match for their opponents, they immediately turned and fled. Oros's pride chased closely behind, gradually moving away from Luo Qiao's territory and heading towards Hosby's pride's territory.
It seemed that there would be significant changes in the territories of the two lion prides.
Luo Qiao finally breathed a sigh of relief, licked the two cheetah cubs, and planned to look for prey elsewhere. Unexpectedly, in the very place where the lions had just fought, a wild rabbit suddenly darted out of the grass.
Luo Qiao could hardly believe his eyes. How had this rabbit brother not been trampled by the lions? Or was there an underground burrow where it could hide?
In any case, there was finally food.
Perhaps the goddess of luck truly favored Luo Qiao. Not only did Luo Qiao catch that wild rabbit, but he also discovered a rabbit warren in the place where the rabbit had emerged! This nest of rabbits was probably terrified by the noise of the lions fighting and had huddled together in the burrow.
Luo Qiao was not in a hurry to catch them. Instead, he checked the surroundings and indeed found several other exits. He told the two cheetah cubs to watch the rabbit, then Luo Qiao transformed his form, moved stones, and dug soil to block each of the burrow entrances. Then, he found a tree branch and started digging at the only remaining opening!
As a result, a whole nest of rabbits was wiped out under the ruthless claws of the cheetah.
When Parson and Jairo arrived, Luo Qiao and the two cheetah cubs were feasting on the rabbits, their faces covered in blood. Parson greeted them from a distance before approaching. Although they knew each other, they still needed to avoid being suspected of trying to snatch prey.
Luo Qiao was in a great mood eating the rabbit meat and directly handed a rabbit to Parson. "Want to eat some together?"
Parson shook his head. Jairo also walked over, looked at the rabbits on the ground, and couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, "Did you catch all of these?"
Luo Qiao nodded, licked the bloodstains on his paws, and said, "This is the power of wisdom!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he blew a fliying kiss. Parson was stunned, and Jairo was also dumbfounded. Luo Qiao, realizing what he had just done, was also dumbfounded. Was it too late to say he didn't mean it?
