Every Day the Villain Continues to Fail [Quick Transmigration]
He… He… He’s pretending to be asleep!
Ruan Yao’s fur bristled instantly. In a panic, his hind legs scrambled against the firm abs beneath him, trying to flee.
The man lowered his eyes and effortlessly grabbed the kitten’s short legs, giving a gentle tug. With a soft thud, Ruan Yao’s round face crashed into the man's warm, broad chest.
“Meow!” Ruan Yao buried his face against Shang Chi’s chest, his pitiful blue eyes peeking out.
The little cat had beautiful eyes, like two clear, dazzling blue gemstones. The moonlight streaming through the window shimmered across his irises, scattering like tiny twinkling stars.
Shang Chi picked up the kitten, staring into those mesmerizing eyes. “So, you’re the one who keeps appearing in my dreams?”
“The one who wears my clothes in my office?”
“And…” His voice suddenly deepened, lazily listing the kitten’s “crimes.” “The one who sniffs my scent on my bed to comfort himself—is that you?”
Ruan Yao didn’t dare meet his gaze. His eyes darted around nervously, and cold sweat dripped beneath his thick fur. His fluffy tail instinctively wrapped around the man’s arm in an attempt to please him.
Soft, silky fur brushed against bare skin, carrying an unspoken allure.
The little cat had no idea what was running through the human’s mind. He just gazed at him with innocent, naive eyes. Even the tips of his pale pink ears drooped in grievance.
A pitiful little posture.
Ever since Shang Chi discovered that the cat was the same boy from his dreams, his feelings for Ruan Yao had undergone an intense transformation.
Shang Chi had always been surrounded by admirers, both men and women, drawn to him. But his overwhelming cold aura made it impossible for anyone to get close.
For more than twenty years, he had never once felt anything for another person.
Shang Chi had assumed he was simply incapable of love.
Until he met Ruan Yao. That was when he realized—he just hadn’t met the right one yet.
Whether human or demon, as long as it was him, nothing else mattered.
Though his emotions were raging inside, his face remained as cold as ever, as if he were contemplating the best way to cook cat meat in a hot pot.
"System, if he finds out about me, will the mission be ruined?" Ruan Yao trembled in the man's grasp, his ears quivering as he spoke in a tiny voice.
"Not necessarily" the system rubbed its chin. "As long as you keep up your cunning, manipulative persona, it won’t count as breaking character."
Ruan Yao let out a cautious sigh of relief, but soon curled into himself again, shivering. "But isn’t the protagonist disgusted by humans?"
Just because Shang Chi was a devoted cat lover didn’t mean he would like his human form!
Ruan Yao couldn’t help but imagine terrifying scenes from horror films, mad doctors performing bizarre tortures. His entire body shrank into a tiny ball of fur.
"You can transform into a human, can’t you?" Shang Chi remained cold and ruthless, pressing the soft, limp ragdoll cat onto the bed.
The little cat lay on his back, four paws up in the air, pink paw pads nearly touching the man’s face.
His fluffy tail modestly covered a crucial area.
The man lowered his head, bringing his lips close to the kitten’s sensitive ears. His warm breath, carrying a hint of woody fragrance, brushed against Ruan Yao’s head.
"Show me."
Ruan Yao wished he could disappear on the spot. He let out a soft "meow" and nudged Shang Chi in an attempt to sneak his way out of the situation.
However, Dr. Shang remained completely unmoved, his iron will as steady as a mountain. Calmly, he used one hand to rub the soft, exposed belly of the little cat.
The fine, fluffy fur and the warm, squishy belly felt unbelievably good to the touch, so much so that he found it impossible to resist pressing down.
Being touched on the stomach felt strange. The ticklish sensation made Ruan Yao squirm uncontrollably.
His four little paws trembled as he kicked at the man’s arm, but with the vast difference in strength, it was nothing more than a light scratch for Shang Chi.
His jelly-like paw pads pressed against his arm, slightly sinking under the pressure. Unconsciously, he stepped a few more times, leaving behind a perfect little plum blossom imprint on his smooth skin.
Dr. Shang quickly realized that the little cat was extremely ticklish. His hand, which had been rubbing his belly, changed position shamelessly—grabbing one of his tiny paws and lightly scratching the soft pad underneath.
Ruan Yao couldn’t take it anymore. he let out a whimpering cry, his eyes welling up with shimmering tears.
It was as if he was cursing him with his gaze.
"If you don’t change back, I’ll keep tickling you. I’m sure you can handle it, right?" Shang Chi said coldly, pinching his tiny paw, which was barely the size of half his fingertip.
As he watched the little cat resign himself to his fate, his heart filled with amusement.
Tears welled up in his eyes.
"No more cat treats for you in the future"
"I’ll give all your freeze-dried snacks to a more obedient little cat"
After delivering his threats, he softened his voice, coaxing the little, not-so-bright demon into falling right into his trap. "Be good. If you turn back into a human, you’ll get a reward."
Like a devil, he whispered tempting words, chipping away at his already wavering will. "Anything you want. Think of it as a promise. No matter what you ask for, I’ll agree."
"Even if you want the stars, I’ll pluck them from the sky for you."
Ruan Yao’s face burned, his breathing quickened.
It wasn’t because his words were particularly seductive, but because the heat that had finally subsided was flaring up again.
Shang Chi was so close to him, constantly pressing up against him in zero distance. It stirred the innate attachment written into his instincts, making it hard to resist.
His slightly parted, rose-colored lips resembled a blooming flower under the night sky, exhaling warm, fragrant breaths.
In the hazy night, it was as if they wrapped around Shang Chi’s very soul, pulling him in.
A whimper escaped from his throat, impossible to suppress. He watched helplessly as his tiny paws, slick with sweat, slipped powerlessly from his arm.
There was no worse outcome than this. Ruan Yao thought, giving in to despair.
As the fever swept through his body, he had no strength to fight it. He let out a dazed sigh, his deep blue eyes shimmering like the dazzling sea of stars in the midnight sky.
A thick, white mist began to spread beneath him, slowly engulfing Shang Chi’s arms in its cool, damp embrace.
Sang Chi could no longer see his little cat.
His heart tensed, and he reached out instinctively—only to grasp a patch of smooth, warm skin.
Soft and delicate, unmistakably human.
Shang Chi froze.
This was the first time in his life he had witnessed something supernatural.
The first thing to emerge from the mist was a slender hand, glistening with crimson sweat. Its delicate fingertips, as soft as flower petals, burned with a sultry hue, trembling as they collapsed into the man’s broad palm.
Skin like polished jade, fingers as slender as scallion stalks.
Shang Chi felt a faint stir in his heart.
When the mist completely dissipated, the cat-eared boy he had dreamed of day and night finally appeared before him in full.
Shang Chi knew he was beautiful, but seeing him in reality was far more breathtaking than in his dreams.
Soft silver-white hair clung damply to his flushed cheeks, his entire body so pale it seemed almost translucent, like melting snow in the warmth of a palm.
The searing heat within him painted his porcelain-white skin with hues of delicate crimson.
His ocean-blue eyes, veiled by damp silver lashes, gazed at the man above him with a hazy, fevered look.
His slightly parted lips, flushed with a dewy pink, revealed the tip of a tongue flickering with warmth.
Ruan Yao, dazed and feverish, instinctively sought out the coolness of the man’s skin.
His soft, snow-white cheek pressed against Shang Chi’s neck, which carried a faint woody fragrance.
The cat ears atop his head drooped as he nuzzled against him, their fluffy tips teasing at the last thread of the man’s self-control.
In a voice tinged with grievance and the faintest trace of a sob, Ruan Yao mumbled, "Don’t give my snacks away."
The man, lost in a haze of temptation, suddenly snapped back to his senses.
Dr. Shang pinched the little cat’s face, speechless.
Still feverish, Ruan Yao nuzzled against his cool skin, his voice teary as he blinked up at him. "I want strawberry cake."
Like an overgrown child, he clung to him, whining and rubbing against him, his fluffy tail swishing against Shang Chi’s waist as if reprimanding him.
"Don’t sell me to the cat café madam—no, the owner!" Earning only five dried fish per session was outright robbery.
Shang Chi grabbed the little cat’s damp nape, grinding his teeth as a vein throbbed on his temple.
"I won’t sell you. Now tell me the truth, are you an adult?"
Ruan Yao twitched an ear, his face turning red. "I… I am."
Dr. Shang fell into an eerie silence for a moment before a wicked smile curled at his lips.
"Well, that makes things easier"
Ruan Yao: "?"
He had no idea what his current state meant in the eyes of a fully developed, grown man.
Dr. Shang could feel the last fraying string of his sanity about to snap.
Ruan Yao, his fever-clouded mind barely functioning, dumbly listened to the man’s coaxing words.
"Be good. Tell me clearly, what do you want to do?"
His voice was low and rich, wrapped in a layer of honeyed sweetness, easily making the little cat dizzy.
Ruan Yao obediently wrapped his tail around the man’s waist, his deep blue eyes, tinged with a hint of violet, fixated on Shang Chi’s face, his handsome features sculpted by the night, reminiscent of an ancient Greek statue.
"…Kiss me."
The little cat spoke in a soft, sticky voice, almost like whining. Shang Chi seemed not to understand and moved even closer, his straight nose nearly touching Ruan Yao’s cheek.
Ruan Yao pressed his lips together, looking troubled. After a while, he clearly couldn't hold on any longer.
A trembling tear clung to his silver-white eyelashes as he wrapped his arms around the man's neck and offered a kiss filled with longing.
In his panic, he missed the mark, his lips landing clumsily at the corner of the man's mouth. Hesitantly, he stuck out the tip of his vibrant red tongue, lightly licking Shang Chi’s lips.
In an instant, fireworks exploded in the man's heart.
His little cat had kissed him.
Something even more addicting than cuddling a cat had finally happened.
Shang Chi grabbed the back of Ruan Yao’s head and kissed him back fiercely.

After surviving the critical period and turning back into a ragdoll cat, Ruan Yao sat on top of the shoe cabinet, watching the man with a confused expression as he frowned and got ready to leave.
Ruan Yao tilted his head in puzzlement. “What’s wrong with him?”
He looked so unhappy.
The system cleared its throat, putting on an all-knowing expression. “Maybe he feels like you tainted him. You know, cold and unattainable types tend to be a bit of a neat freak.”
Ruan Yao bared his tiny fangs. “But he was the one who got way too into it in the end! That has to be a tsundere uke, right?”
“But isn’t it great that just one kiss was enough to turn me back? I don’t think I took advantage of him while I was out of it, did I?”
Suddenly worried, Ruan Yao clenched his tiny paws.
Oh no. If he really did force himself on the man, he’d have to take responsibility and atone for it.
His ears perked up as he frantically tried to recall if he had done anything inappropriate last night.
Ruan Yao was a very confident little cat. It never occurred to him that there was an enormous power gap between a cat and a human.
In his mind, he was probably some kind of prehistoric beast, capable of taking on an alien or beating up Godzilla.
The system considered saying that maybe the reason Shang Chi was upset was because nothing more had happened. But that thought was too strange.
After thinking about it seriously for a whole second, the system decided to stay silent.
