Chapter 73 Part 2

Become a Cheetah

PART 2

Hyenas like to hunt at night, and mostly sleep during the hot daytime. The gathering vultures didn't attract their attention, but the jackals' calls became the signal to wake them up for a meal.

Only then did the vultures understand the jackal couple's intention: to find outside help?!

That's so despicable!

The five hyenas of the Garna hyena clan were the first to arrive. They now lived in the border area between the Hosby lion pride's territory and the Oros lion pride's territory. Hearing the jackal couple's barking, they immediately rushed over.

The appearance of the hyenas signified that the vultures' dinner was destined to be snatched away. The lappet-faced vultures, who were tyrannical in front of jackals, could only obediently stand aside in front of hyenas. This was because hyenas' diet did not exclude vultures.

Luo Qiao and the two little cheetahs stood on an anthill, watching from afar the scenes unfolding around the giant python's corpse. Luo Sen and Luo Rui once again deeply understood what the law of the jungle meant.

Cheetahs were predators, but among predators, they were not at the top. Even though Luo Qiao had killed hyenas before, Luo Sen and Luo Rui had to understand this point.

"Alright, let's go with Dad."

The hyenas' distant feast had already begun. Luo Qiao jumped off the anthill, leading the two little cheetahs towards the border of their territory.

The leopard Monty had been hiding near the wild dog den, patiently waiting. As evening approached, the wild dogs planned to go out hunting again. Except for the pups, only one adult wild dog remained to guard the den.

Monty knew his chance had come.

Watching the majority of the wild dog troop move away, several pups obediently hid in the den, which was an abandoned warthog burrow, conveniently located next to a fallen dead tree. The guarding wild dog lay resting beside the den entrance, wary of any danger that might appear at any moment.

Monty quietly approached, his steps as precise as if they had been measured. Each step landed on the paw prints left by his front paws, without making a single sound.

The wild dog remained vigilant, its large ears perked up. As soon as it noticed anything amiss, it would immediately bark loudly and attack.

Monty circled behind the wild dog, waited for the right moment, and leaped. The wild dog's reaction was very swift. The moment Monty pounced, it sensed the danger and immediately stood up, but it was too late.

Monty bit the wild dog's nape. Before its spine was severed, the wild dog barked loudly. This was a signal to its companions.

After killing the guarding adult wild dog, Monty immediately turned his attention to the pups hiding in the den. Big cats would instinctively kill their rivals. Although these pups were not yet grown, they were still food competitors for Monty. Moreover, the wild dogs had invaded his territory and dared to provoke him, so they had to pay the price!

The wild dog pack heard their companion's call. The female leader immediately abandoned the hunt and led all the members back to the den. Predictably, all that awaited them were the dead guard and the pups who had already stopped breathing.

The wild dogs were furious. They used their keen sense of smell to identify the scent of the killer and followed it to an acacia tree where Monty was lying!

Monty hadn't expected them to return so quickly and didn't have time to run far. If he hid in the grass, the wild dogs would find him immediately. Fortunately, there was an acacia tree nearby, and Monty immediately climbed up. However, the sparse foliage easily exposed his figure.

"Roar!"

Monty roared at the wild dogs gathered and barking madly under the tree, telling them to leave. The wild dogs couldn't climb trees, but in their fury, they were determined to stay there until the leopard came down!

In a one-on-one fight, a wild dog was definitely no match for a leopard, but a dozen furious wild dogs were definitely not easy to deal with. Monty could only stay in the tree now until the wild dogs ran out of patience. This was a battle of wills, and the victor would not be known until the very last moment.

Just as Monty was trapped in the tree by the wild dogs, Luo Qiao, who had reached the border of his territory, also encountered trouble. He ran into Felix and Ero of the Hosby lion pride!

The two male lions discovered the dense vultures in the sky while patrolling their territory and immediately decided to investigate. Since most of their territory had been taken by the Oros lion pride, the prey that the lionesses could now catch was very limited.

The wildebeest herd a few days ago was just a fleeting opportunity. To eat their fill, they could only catch large prey like buffalo. But were buffalo that easy to catch? When Felix and Ero were wandering, they understood one thing: to fill their stomachs, they couldn't give up any opportunity.

Felix and Ero planned to first see what they could eat, and then continue patrolling their territory. Anyway, Nas was still there, so there was no need to worry.

Luo Qiao happened to bump into these two brothers who had just arrived. Both Felix and Ero recognized Luo Qiao. Felix felt the wound on his body that had long healed start to ache again.

"Ero, I'm going to kill him!"

"But I want to eat first."

"...Why don't you say 'Yes, brother' anymore?!"

"If you choose to go eat, I will say that."

"..."

Luo Qiao didn't care what Felix and Ero were arguing about. Seeing these two lion brothers, the fur on his nape stood on end. What should he do now? There was simply no place for the two little cheetahs to hide here, especially with two male lions, two! Even if he could lure one away, what about the other?

Luo Qiao was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, but Felix and Ero were arguing amongst themselves. In the end, Ero stated that one Felix was enough to kill this cheetah, and he was going to find food.

"Alright, let's do that then."

Luo Qiao watched the two brothers' movements with extreme vigilance. Seeing Ero and Felix separate, and then Felix walking towards his direction, he immediately stood up, lowered his head, and adopted a threatening posture towards Ero.

But Ero didn't pay him any attention and continued to approach until Luo Qiao couldn't help but want to rush over. At that moment, Ero suddenly turned, went around him, and walked towards where the vultures were gathering.

Huh?!

Luo Qiao stood stiffly in place, looked at Ero walking away, and then looked back at Felix, who was still in the same place, looking at him unkindly. What was going on?

The two little cheetahs nervously huddled close to Luo Qiao, lying low to the ground, motionless. This was the right thing to do. There was a lion opposite them, so it was best not to move around to avoid attracting the other's attention. Felix's target was Luo Qiao. He only wanted to kill Luo Qiao now, and he didn't even notice the two cubs.

Luo Qiao knew this clearly. The only way he could help was to lure Felix away himself. But what if Ero turned back? What would happen to Luo Sen and Luo Rui? He could only pray that Ero had really gone to find the python's corpse.

"Listen, Dad will lure him away in a bit. You run towards the waterhole. Remember the waterhole Dad took you to? Run over there and find a way to hide. There's a marula tree there. If you can, climb up the tree. Dad will come find you!"

This wasn't the first time Luo Sen and Luo Rui had encountered such a situation. The two little cheetahs were able to calmly listen to Luo Qiao finish speaking, and then they stared intently at the lion. As soon as Luo Qiao ran towards the lion, they would run in the opposite direction.

Felix's patience could only last until now. He began to walk towards Luo Qiao and his cubs. Luo Qiao made a decisive move, lowered his head, and with a leaping posture, ran towards Felix. Luo Sen and Luo Rui immediately rushed into the tall grass and, using the cover of the grass, ran towards the waterhole.

Felix looked at Luo Qiao daring to charge at him, bared his fangs, and was determined to kill him! He would definitely not let go of that leopard who dared to leave a wound on him either!

Luo Qiao didn't dare to get too close to Felix. When the distance between them was about fifty meters, he immediately turned and ran in the other direction. Unsurprisingly, Felix chased after him.

From the beginning, Luo Qiao had planned to run towards the territory of the Oros lion pride. This was his only way to escape. As long as Felix wasn't blinded by anger, he would definitely not dare to easily step into the territory of the Oros lion pride.

Compared to Luo Qiao, he believed that the lions of the Oros lion pride would be more willing to teach this lion, who had repeatedly been defeated under their claws, a lesson.

Felix saw through Luo Qiao's plan and let out an angry roar. That damned cunning cheetah!

Even though Felix's roar hurt Luo Qiao's ears, he still hoped Felix would continue to roar, preferably loud enough for the lions in this area to hear. The lion chasing behind him was really not very smart. A big size didn't necessarily mean big brains!

Luo Qiao ran even harder. When he saw Oros appear in his sight, he almost burst into tears of joy. For the first time, he was happy, extremely happy, to see Oros!

He even wanted to excitedly shout: Handsome, I missed you to death!

Looking at the cheetah excitedly running towards him, Oros suspected he had heatstroke and was hallucinating. Otherwise, how could he see an evolved male cheetah with tearful eyes rushing into his embrace?!
