What Should I Do If I Think the Demon Lord Is Super Cute?

Chapter 1: Prologue

The road was pitch black, and there were no surveillance cameras. Perfect.

Liu Kuang took one last drag of his cigarette, tossed the butt onto the ground with zero regard for public ethics, ground it hard into the pavement with his shoe, and then hunched over to approach his target.

Hmm, this trash can was brand new—likely just put out. If he took it to a scrap yard, he might even get a few dozen yuan for it. Liu Kuang emptied the contents of the green plastic bin until it was spotless, then pushed it away, feeling quite pleased with himself.

Today’s "harvest" had been pathetic. He’d finally managed to snatch a person's bag, but he didn't know if the owner was an idiot or what; such a large bag contained nothing but an old-fashioned flip phone and some candy. Not even a single twenty-yuan bill. What a psycho...

As Liu Kuang pushed the trash can forward, somehow, he managed to miss his footing even on flat ground. He plummeted straight down, as if falling into a bottomless abyss!

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH..."

Liu Kuang lost consciousness almost instantly. A golden talisman emitting a faint glow flew out of the trash can in his arms, circling around him once. Then, in a flash, it transformed into golden particles and slowly drifted away into the chaotic darkness.

"What kind of person is this... this Liu Kuang’s character is a bit too corrupt, isn't it..."

The trash can emitted a faint white light in the darkness and let out a helpless sigh. "Immortal Ruitong is really something... why didn't she tell me Liu Kuang was this kind of person... I feel like getting back to the Heavenly Realm is going to be so hard..."

On the Lingyun Continent, people of the martial arts world, having nothing better to do, compiled several rankings. Among them was a list called the "Villains' List."

At the top of the list was Gui Sha of the Ghost Sect. In second place was the Life-Snatching Evil Physician.

The Villains' List originated because a group of righteous martial artists gathered to lament why the world had to endure such cold-blooded and cruel people as Gui Sha and the Evil Physician.

No. Calling these two "people" was an overstatement.

Gui Sha, the Sect Leader of the Ghost Sect, was rumored to have been an existence akin to the King of Hell for the past four years. Killing someone was as simple to him as chopping dumpling filling.

If Gui Sha was a blood-drenched, murderous demon, then the Evil Physician was a hellish ghost that chilled one's very marrow.

And right now, this Evil Physician was sitting in the high seat of the Prime Minister’s manor. The Prime Minister—a man above ten thousand but below only one—bowed his waist slightly. His lips trembled twice before he finally forced out a sentence:

"Divine Physician, if you save my son’s life, this humble official will surely reward you with a heavy sum of gold..."

The Evil Physician suddenly let out a soft chuckle that was hard to define as either amusement or mockery. Everyone in the hall was as silent as a cicada in winter.

The physician stopped laughing, picked up an exquisite pastry, and began to eat it with unhurried grace.

A delicate silver-gray mask covered his face, revealing only a pair of sharp, piercing eyes. Those eyes, even when staring indifferently, were enough to make one’s spine go cold and forehead break out in a sweat.

The pastry must have tasted good, for the man spoke lazily: "Prime Minister, you really are quite ignorant of the affairs of the martial world."

The Prime Minister’s heart sank. There were many rumors in the martial world. But regarding the Evil Physician, every single one made the heart tremble.

For instance, he would demand a hundred taels of gold from a destitute family, or demand a thousand gold pieces and the servitude of a wealthy merchant's child. The youngest top-ten expert in the martial world once knelt in the snow for three days and three nights to cure his lover’s blindness. The Evil Physician had walked up to that expert, kicked the man’s frozen knees, and smiled. "I’ll treat her. How about you cripple your own martial arts in exchange?"

No one knew what the Evil Physician was actually thinking. He seemed to exist purely to manufacture suffering. People hated him. Or rather, it wasn't so much that they hated him as they hated those blood-soaked choices he forced upon them.

"Then what should I..." The Prime Minister's voice was incredibly hoarse and cautious, like a moth dancing toward a flame, desperately seeking one last glimmer of hope.

"Your official position," the Evil Physician replied with a raised brow and a smile.

Silence. The last spark of hope in the sickly son’s eyes shattered. He closed his eyes, utterly consumed by despair.

The Evil Physician let out a sneer and stood up to leave. Upon reaching the threshold, he suddenly paused, as if he had just remembered something. He turned around and walked back.

For a moment, time seemed to freeze. Everyone felt a sudden surge of hope; their hearts leapt into their throats! Could it be...?

But the Evil Physician simply strode to the table and picked up the fruit plate. "I'll take this as my travel fee. You don't mind, right?" He smiled.

The crowd finally snapped back to reality, their expressions stiffening. The Prime Minister’s body shook with rage. His wife covered her mouth and slid down against a pillar, a sob escaping from between her fingers. Soon after, the maidservants and young ladies were all weeping uncontrollably.

The eldest son on the sickbed managed a forced twitch of his lips, his gaze vacant; he couldn't even squeeze out a tear.

The Prime Minister’s eldest daughter, who had just returned from the martial world, watched the Evil Physician’s departing figure with such hatred that her fingernails dug into her palms.

She suddenly shouted, "Master Evil Physician! I heard that Gui Sha, the Sect Leader of the Ghost Sect, wants your life. You’d better watch your back these coming days!"

The Evil Physician turned his head as if surprised and asked, "Why?"

The daughter lowered her gaze, her tone forced into a semblance of icy calm. "Does Gui Sha need a reason to kill someone?"

The Evil Physician looked at her and suddenly burst into laughter. Although his face was masked, making his expression unreadable, his low laughter gave the strange illusion that he was genuinely delighted.

"Come here," the Evil Physician said to her.

The daughter looked at him suspiciously. She bit her lip but eventually walked over, step by step.

The Evil Physician looked at her and chuckled softly, "Don't hallucinate about us killing each other. Because no matter how violent and tyrannical Gui Sha is, it is impossible for him to kill..."

He suddenly leaned down, pressing close to her ear, his voice low and eerie, like the whisper of a ghost or god:

"...Himself."

The daughter’s pupils contracted instantly! Terrified, she took a step back, staring blankly at him. Her mouth hung open. "You... you are Gui..."

Immediately, the Evil Physician smiled and pulled a silver needle—one that had been pricked into her shoulder at some unknown point—and waved it before her eyes. He said unhurriedly, "Yes, I am."

"Gui Sha indeed needs no reason to kill; I quite like that phrase," the Evil Physician's tone was almost sinister. "...But I'm sorry, I have no interest in suicide."

The daughter's lips trembled as a whimper escaped her. She looked at the needle, then at her shoulder, her expression shifting to one of shock and horror. She frantically touched her mouth, but aside from a few whimpers, she couldn't make a sound.

She couldn't speak. She had been turned into a mute by this evil ghost!

The Evil Physician maintained his smiling facade. "You've learned a big secret, haven't you? You won't tell anyone, will you? And from now on, you won't go around making up rumors, right?"

Despair flooded the daughter’s eyes. The Evil Physician loathed by the world, and the Gui Sha feared by the world... these two entities, more terrifying than the ghosts of hell, were actually the same person. Just how terrifying of a being was this man?! No, how could he be a man! He was clearly a man-eating demon crawled up from the depths of hell!! And she! Just for saying one sentence, she had been poisoned mute!! I'll... Her face turned deathly pale, and her gaze suddenly became resolute and venomous. She thought in desperation: I'll take him down with me!

She suddenly pulled the hairpin from her hair and lunged at the Evil Physician!

But he simply took a step back. Had his sleeves not fluttered, one could hardly have seen him move.

"Pfft...!" The daughter slammed onto the ground, coughing up a mouthful of blood before falling unconscious.

The Evil Physician stood a few feet away, casting a cold, indifferent glance at her as he let out a sneer. Stupid. He had encountered countless fools like this, filled with nothing but rage and overestimating their own abilities.

The Prime Minister and his wife ran over tremblingly to help their unconscious daughter. They yelled at the Evil Physician, "What... what did you do to my daughter?!"

The Evil Physician replied composedly, "Tell her when she wakes up that she’s lucky today. I didn't bring my full stock of poisons. But if she can't control her mouth, it won't be as short as just one month of silence."

He couldn't help but let out a long sigh. Ah! He was truly kind today. He gave a yawn and turned to leave.

As he walked out of the Prime Minister’s gates, a trace of lingering mockery remained in his eyes. See? This is the world. It’s as if being a physician means he must save people. He set his conditions; if the people of the world are unwilling to sacrifice, he becomes the cold-blooded, "Evil Physician." They are the ones who can't bear to let go of their status, yet when the person dies, they shift all their hatred onto him. How unfair.

Suddenly, a gust of air from above charged straight toward the Evil Physician! His brows furrowed, and he instantly leaped several yards away. Simultaneously, a silver needle shot toward the air current with lightning speed.

The moment the needle hit, a dark shadow crashed heavily onto the ground. It turned out to be a person who was already unconscious.

The Evil Physician frowned and walked up to investigate. If he had to evaluate this creature—he just wanted to know which mountain this monkey had come from. After all, this person had a shocking mop of multicolored hair. He was barely clothed and possessed zero internal energy.

The Evil Physician raised an eyebrow and nudged the person's face with his foot. The man didn't react at all. The physician's gaze drifted down, settling on the man's arm. His eyes narrowed as he slowly withdrew his silver needle.

The Kingfisher Silver Needle, it was "Qiu Yue" (Moon Prisoner) poison. Although he never had the bothersome thought of detoxifying this person, compared to other poisons, this Qiu Yue... It wouldn't even let a person look decent in death.

The Evil Physician lowered his eyelids expressionlessly. With a slight exert of force from his fingertips holding the needle, it instantly disintegrated into powder. He turned and walked away. He didn't spare the "monkey" on the ground another glance. It was as if that person had already become a rotting corpse.
