After Transmigrating, I Saved the Saintly Male Lead

The bell rang, signaling the start of class.
The two of them returned to the classroom.
The room was in chaos, the noise from the students almost lifting the roof.
Following the original owner’s memories, Ji Anche walked to his seat.
A brand-new textbook lay on the desk. Ji Anche flipped it open and noticed that the book was pristine, with no notes written inside.
...It seemed the original owner was also an academic slacker.
At the front of the classroom, a red banner read, [30 Days Until the Diagnostic Exam]
With the exam approaching, Ji Anche felt a growing sense of anxiety.
For liberal arts subjects, Ji Anche was confident in Chinese and English, as he had originally chosen the liberal arts track. But the original owner had been studying science, a field Ji Anche knew nothing about, especially math, which was his lifelong nemesis.
If he failed the math exam, it would be utterly humiliating.
Ji Anche opened the math problems on his desk and stared blankly at the function questions, neither understanding the other.
He sighed and happened to notice Gu Hanzhou standing by his desk, busy with something. It had been a while, and he still hadn’t sat down.
What was going on?
Ji Anche furrowed his brows and got up, walking over to Gu Hanzhou’s seat.
Gu Hanzhou’s seat was in the front row, while Ji Anche’s was in the back, separated by half the classroom.
After making his way across the room, Ji Anche froze for a few seconds when he saw the state of Gu Hanzhou’s desk.
The books had been torn into shreds, scattered messily across the desk. The surface was carved with the word "freak" in large letters. The chair was coated with a layer of super glue, and the desk drawer was filled with disgusting plastic bugs. The glass water cup had a layer of chalk dust floating on the surface of the water.
It was clear someone had deliberately poured chalk dust into Gu Hanzhou’s cup.
The scene was shocking.
Ji Anche felt anger boiling up inside him.
Those trashy people spent all their time thinking about how to bully others instead of studying. What was wrong with them!
Ji Anche looked up and saw that Gu Hanzhou’s expression was calm. He was diligently wiping the dirt off the desk with a cloth, showing no signs of anger.
Perhaps he had grown accustomed to the endless bullying.
Ji Anche stepped forward and grabbed his arm, saying softly, "Stop cleaning. Sit next to me for now."
There happened to be an empty desk next to his.
"Ji Anche, why are you here?" Gu Hanzhou finally noticed him and forced a smile. "It’s fine. I’ll just clean it up and sit down."
"Sit next to me," Ji Anche insisted, gripping his wrist. His amber eyes burned with anger as he gritted his teeth. "I want to be your deskmate."
"O-okay."
Gu Hanzhou put down the cloth and obediently let Ji Anche lead him to the seat next to his.
"Sit here for now. I’ll go get your textbooks." Ji Anche tried to smile gently, patting Gu Hanzhou’s shoulder to comfort him.
Under his watch, he refused to let the male lead be bullied anymore.
Ji Anche returned to Gu Hanzhou’s desk.
He crouched down and started gathering the textbooks and notebooks from the drawer. The male lead’s notebooks were filled with notes in various colors, clearly the work of a diligent student.
This sight eased some of Ji Anche’s anger.
Suddenly, the wooden chair behind him was kicked by someone. Ji Anche’s lower back hit the edge of the chair, sending a sharp pain through his hip.
"Ji Anche, what do you mean by letting Gu Hanzhou sit next to you?"
Hearing the voice, Ji Anche turned around and saw a face that looked shifty and mean, exuding a sleazy vibe.
Ji Anche racked his brain for memories of this person.
Oh, this was Liu Lifei, a lackey of the school bully, Ouyang Wei.
He had bullied the original owner for an entire semester.
Later, he even used an iron rod to break the male lead’s leg, directly causing Gu Hanzhou’s right leg to become permanently disabled.
In short, Liu Lifei was non-recyclable trash.
Noticing the commotion, Gu Hanzhou walked over and asked worriedly, "Ji Anche, what’s wrong?"
Ji Anche glanced at Liu Lifei and smiled meaningfully. "I just ran into someone who doesn’t care about hygiene, leaving non-recyclable trash lying around."
Liu Lifei didn’t catch the sarcasm in Ji Anche’s tone.
He barked at Gu Hanzhou in a commanding manner, "Gu Hanzhou, go to the water room and get me a cup of hot water. Make sure it’s purified."
This kind of errand was just one of their petty ways to humiliate Gu Hanzhou. Gu Hanzhou never dared to resist and could only comply.
Liu Lifei enjoyed the pleasure of trampling on a good student’s dignity. He sat on the chair with his legs crossed, smirking arrogantly.
"Gu Hanzhou, what’s the use of being such a good student? You still have to run errands for me."
"Liu Lifei."
Liu Lifei asked impatiently, "What?"
Ji Anche asked sincerely, "I just wanted to ask, are your hands broken? Why are you asking someone else to get water for you?"
"If your hands are broken, you should go to the hospital. Do you need me to call the hospital for you? The number is 1534xxxxx."
Ji Anche’s eyes were clear and serious. "No need to thank me. I’m just a kind person who likes to help the disabled."
Someone nearby whispered, "1534xxxxx is the number for our city’s mental hospital."
"He’s calling Liu Lifei a lunatic."
"Pfft, hahaha..."
"Hahaha, that’s brilliant..."
The sound of suppressed laughter spread around the room.
Liu Lifei turned his head and barked, "Who the hell dares to laugh!"
The muffled laughter in the classroom immediately stopped.
Liu Lifei scanned the room but couldn’t figure out who had been talking behind his back. Frustrated, he gave up.
Clenching his fists and gritting his teeth, he threatened, "Ji Anche, what does it have to do with you if I tell Gu Hanzhou to fetch water? Are you itching for a beating too?"
Ji Anche didn’t answer. Instead, he asked coldly, "Was it you who messed up Gu Hanzhou’s desk like this?"
"Yeah, so what? Do you want the same treatment?"
Liu Lifei looked proud, shaking his head and grinning. "No way, no way. Are you actually going to stand up for Gu Hanzhou?"
"Ha, that’s the funniest joke I’ve heard all year. Ji Anche, the coward, is actually going to stand up for someone else. Hahahaha…"
He hadn’t even finished laughing when the chair beneath him was suddenly kicked hard, sending it flying.
Liu Lifei, caught off guard, fell to the ground with a loud thud. A sharp pain shot through his tailbone, and he let out a pained scream.
His face twisted in agony, Liu Lifei roared, "Ji Anche, you actually dared to kick my chair?!"
"Do you want to die?!!!"
The previously noisy classroom fell dead silent.
Liu Lifei was the class tyrant, backed by the school bully, Ouyang Wei. No one dared to cross him.
No one expected Liu Lifei to ever be humiliated like this.
A classmate nearby hurriedly helped Liu Lifei up.
The tailbone is connected to the brain’s nerves, and Liu Lifei was sweating profusely from the pain. He couldn’t even bend his waist, and his legs were trembling uncontrollably.
Liu Lifei could only hunch over like an old man, gasping in pain. He gritted his teeth and shouted, "Ji Anche, if you kneel down and apologize to me right now, maybe I’ll go easy on you later."
Ji Anche sneered, "Hah, apologize?"
The boy’s deep brown eyes coldly glared at Liu Lifei, the chill in them sharp enough to pierce through anything. His entire demeanor was arrogant and unrestrained.
Pale golden sunlight filtered through the blinds, casting a glow on his figure. His back was straight and slender. Gu Hanzhou’s gaze fell on Ji Anche, who stood in front of him. The distance was so close that he could even see the fine down on the boy’s cheeks.
Ji Anche stood in the sunlight, but he was even more dazzling than the blazing sun.
With his hands casually tucked into his pockets, Ji Anche smiled and curled his lips. "I’d rather prepare your funeral."
He suddenly kicked the desk Liu Lifei was leaning on, sending it crashing to the ground with a loud thud. The contents of the desk spilled everywhere.
Ink from the desk splattered onto Liu Lifei’s face, turning his ugly face into a colorful mess, like a ridiculous clown.
Liu Lifei hurriedly pulled out tissues from the desk, trying to wipe the ink off his face, but the more he wiped, the messier it became. The blue ink smeared all over his face, creating a comical sight.
Someone nearby couldn’t hold back their laughter.
Liu Lifei, furious, shouted, "Ji Anche, how dare you mess with me! Do you believe I’ll tell Wei Ge [big brother] about this? Wei Ge’s dad is the boss of Haiwei Company!!"
Wei Ge, whose full name was Ouyang Wei, was the school bully. Ouyang Wei’s family had a powerful background.
Not only were they extremely wealthy, but they also had deep connections in politics.
His father was a shareholder of the school, and Ouyang Wei used his father’s influence to wreak havoc at school. Teachers didn’t dare to discipline him and turned a blind eye when he bullied others.
Ji Anche chuckled lightly. "I’m so scared."
"Such a terrifying thing exists in the world."
"How horrifying."
"It’s even scarier than Peppa Pig."
The way Ji Anche said these words carried a particularly sarcastic tone.
The original owner had been timid, stammering and never daring to speak loudly, let alone confront anyone. That’s why he had been bullied all along. But in terms of family background, the original owner had no reason to fear Liu Lifei.
Although Ouyang Wei’s family was powerful, the Ji family wasn’t weak either. Even Ouyang Wei would respectfully call Ji Anche’s father "Uncle Ji" when they met.
Moreover, Liu Lifei was just a lackey under Ouyang Wei.
The pampered youngest son of the Ji family had no reason to endure such humiliation.
Liu Lifei was so angry he was practically fuming. He never expected the usually obedient Ji Anche to stand up to him.
He couldn’t win with words, couldn’t win with fists, and couldn’t compete in background.
Why hadn’t he noticed before that Ji Anche was such a troublemaker?
Liu Lifei’s face turned purple with rage, and the veins on his neck bulged. "You, you, you…!!!"
"Straighten your tongue before you talk to me."
"Deskmate, do you have a tissue?"
Ji Anche frowned in annoyance. "I touched some trash, and now my hands are dirty."
Hearing Ji Anche’s words, Liu Lifei almost fainted from anger. Ji Anche had only touched him, and now he was practically calling him trash by name.
Ji Anche couldn’t care less about what Liu Lifei was thinking. He took the wet wipes Gu Hanzhou handed him and meticulously wiped his hands three times, finally feeling a bit better.
Looking up, Ji Anche gave the math teacher, who was standing nervously at the door, a warm, spring-like smile.
"Teacher, please come in and start the lesson. I’m sorry for delaying the class. I truly apologize."
The math teacher wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and hurried into the classroom.
"It’s fine. Students, please take out your math papers. Let’s begin the lesson."
As he taught, the math teacher’s hand holding the chalk trembled slightly. If he hadn’t witnessed Ji Anche’s ruthless behavior earlier, he would have thought Ji Anche was a well-behaved, model student.
The math teacher cleared his throat and continued the lesson, pretending to be calm. "Given the trigonometric function of x, first find the derivative of sin…"
After listening to the math lesson, Ji Anche felt a bit lost.
He had listened, but it was as if he hadn’t.
After staring at the textbook for ten minutes, he suddenly had an epiphany.
Wow, so this is the charm of high school math.
A tissue box sat on the wooden desk. Ji Anche picked it up, his peach-blossom eyes slightly curved as he leaned close to Gu Hanzhou’s ear and whispered, "Deskmate, thank you for the wet wipes earlier."
A strange feeling stirred in Gu Hanzhou’s heart, and his gaze involuntarily fell on the boy in front of him.
Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating Ji Anche’s handsome features. His skin was fair, and his demeanor was pure and clean, like the translucent glass marbles he had played with as a child.
A very beautiful toy.
Gu Hanzhou’s eyes curved slightly, and he smiled shyly. "You’re welcome."
