Chapter 4 ATISTSML

After Transmigrating, I Saved the Saintly Male Lead

o0o

After listening to a math class, Ji Anche’s eyes were glazed over, and he was now questioning his life.

Staring at the stack of materials and reference books on his desk, which stood twenty centimeters high, Ji Anche let out a heavy sigh.

After transmigrating into this book, he actually had to go through the college entrance exam again.

What kind of suffering was this?

In his original world, he had gone abroad to study in his second year of high school. After earning his Ph.D. overseas, he returned to China and taught at a low-tier 211 university, living a relatively leisurely life.

If he had simply gone abroad to study and left the pitiful male lead behind in China, the plot would have undoubtedly followed its original course.

Given the male lead’s pure and kind-hearted, almost saintly nature, he would have been devoured by those beasts, leaving nothing but bones.

The male lead’s saintly personality was indeed a big problem.

Ji Anche pushed his chair back and stood up. "I’m planning to go to the sports field to relax. Do you want to come?"

Gu Hanzhou put down his notebook. "Sure."

They arrived at the sports field.

The sports field at Foreign Language High School was lush with green grass. On both sides of the path, vibrant flowers and verdant ivy were in full bloom, creating a beautiful scene.

Standing on the cobblestone path, Ji Anche looked up at Gu Hanzhou in front of him.

The boy stood quietly with his hands behind his back, lost in thought. Noticing Ji Anche’s gaze, he pursed his lips and gave a shy, timid smile.

Sigh, he’s so handsome, but who would have thought he’d be so naive.

Ji Anche couldn’t help but advise, "From now on, don’t just help anyone you see."

"Why not?"

Gu Hanzhou looked up, a hint of confusion in his eyes. His gaze was clear, his dark eyes filled with innocence. "Isn’t helping others a good thing?"

Having read the original novel, Ji Anche knew that Gu Hanzhou wouldn’t even step on an ant by the roadside. He was so kind-hearted that he bordered on being a saint.

At this moment, Gu Hanzhou was still full of hope for the future, his eyes sparkling with bits of light. He was in the prime of his youth.

Thinking of Gu Hanzhou’s tragic ending, Ji Anche felt a pang of discomfort in his heart.

Was it wrong to help a bullied classmate? No.

Was it wrong to save a passerby who had fainted on the street? Absolutely not.

Kindness itself wasn’t wrong. The real wrongdoers were the beasts who perpetrated school violence.

Still, some necessary warnings had to be given. Otherwise, the pitiful male lead might one day be sold off while still smiling and counting the money for his betrayers.

Ji Anche’s expression darkened as he tried to scare him. "The kind are bullied, and the gentle are ridden. If you’re too kind, you’ll be taken advantage of, and in the end, you’ll be devoured, leaving nothing behind. What if today I had joined those thugs in bullying you?"

Gu Hanzhou seemed to be frightened by his words. His already pale face turned ghostly white, and his frail frame looked as if it might collapse at any moment.

Ji Anche’s eyes were icy as he continued to intimidate him. "Because of your kindness, you might be targeted by those thugs. In this school, they have money and power. You won’t be able to fight back, and you’ll suffer their vicious retaliation. You could be isolated in class, beaten, humiliated, or even have your family threatened."

At the mention of 'family' Gu Hanzhou’s face grew even paler. His expression was hidden beneath his black bangs, making it hard to see his exact emotions.

If Ji Anche could have seen Gu Hanzhou’s eyes at that moment, he would have noticed that there was no trace of fear in them. Instead, they were filled with intense hatred and malice, almost oozing corrosive venom.

Ji Anche spoke softly, warning him, "From now on, don’t help just anyone. What if I’m not a good person? What if I end up repaying your kindness with betrayal?"

In the novel, most of the people the male lead helped ended up betraying him. Perhaps that was just the absurdity of this ridiculous novel.

Gu Hanzhou lowered his head and murmured, "No, Brother Che is a good person. Even though you weren’t nice to me at first, you saved me just now. So you’re a good person."

When he looked up again, Gu Hanzhou’s expression had returned to its innocent, naive state. He smiled foolishly, his eyes curving. "There are still more good people in the world."

"I’m a good person?"

Ji Anche let out a cold laugh. The warmth and kindness from earlier vanished in an instant, replaced by a cold, ruthless expression.

He grabbed Gu Hanzhou's collar, suddenly using force to throw the person towards the wall behind him.

Amidst the flying dust, Gu Hanzhou staggered a few steps to steady himself, his back hitting the gray-white wall.

The mottled, old wall skin rustled and fell, the emerald green ivy making a rustling sound. The broken, tender green stems and leaves whirled and fell onto the lawn.

He widened his eyes in horror, muttering in disbelief "Ge..."

The fist went straight towards Gu Hanzhou's face, rapidly striking.

Feeling the fierce wind from the fist, Gu Hanzhou's pupils shrank sharply, reflexively closing his eyes.

However, the pain did not come for a long time.

Gu Hanzhou tentatively opened his eyes a crack, seeing Ji Anche's slightly raised lips, his light brown eyes filled with delight.

Clearly, he was just teasing him.

Gu Hanzhou's face flushed red all at once, panting as he hurriedly and forcefully pushed Ji Anche away.

Ji Anche patted Gu Hanzhou's cheek, his tone light and teasing "Little kid, don't trust others so easily."

From Ji Anche's perspective, Gu Hanzhou's face was flushed red, even his earlobes were stained with a light red from anger. He still just silently lowered his head, not daring to make a sound.

His slender white neck was exposed, looking particularly easy to bully, like a soft and harmless ragdoll cat.

The leaves swirled and danced as they fell onto the bluestone street, the sound of reading aloud coming from the classroom in the building next door.

The bleak evening wind blew over, and the thin school uniform shirt could not resist the cold at all, Ji Anche couldn't help but shiver.

"Achoo!"

A few seconds later, a blue and white school uniform jacket suddenly appeared in front of him.

Ji Anche followed the arm holding the school uniform jacket, lifting his eyes, catching Gu Hanzhou's earlobe quietly reddening.

It was almost impossible to notice without careful observation, but he happened to see it.

The male lead clearly had a cold and handsome face, but his personality was even softer than the fur on his ragdoll cat at home.

He even blushed when giving someone clothes.

Tsk, how could this little kid be so shy.

"The weather has turned cool recently." Gu Hanzhou handed the school uniform jacket to Ji Anche, saying softly "I'm not cold, wear it."

Ji Anche was surprised by Gu Hanzhou's enthusiasm.

A gust of cold wind blew, and he couldn't help but sneeze again.

Ji Anche was too lazy to be polite, directly draping the school uniform jacket over himself "Thanks, brother."

"You're... you're welcome."

After a long while, Ji Anche heard the pitiful male lead's slow voice "You told me not to trust others easily, which proves you must be a good person."

Gu Hanzhou's eyebrows slightly curved, his eyes gleaming, revealing a soft and clean smile "So I believe you."

Seeing the pitiful male lead's silly smile, Ji Anche was completely convinced. It turned out that the male lead hadn't listened to a single word of what he had just said.

As long as someone showed the male lead a little kindness, the male lead would eagerly offer his whole heart, having no sense of caution towards strangers.

What did the male lead eat growing up, how could he be so innocent and pure?

The author has something to say:

Gu Hanzhou: Gege is so cute when he pretends to be fierce and scary, I want to kiss him

Ji Anche: Just think about it :)
