Become a Cheetah

The commotion caused by the leopard quickly subsided. The buffaloes finished drinking and left one after another. Only a pregnant female buffalo lagged behind, her body feeling unwell due to the continuous fright.
However, she had to keep up with the other buffaloes. Before dusk, the herd would go to the higher pasture, where the temperature would be warmer at night and relatively safer.
The departure of the buffalo herd was a good thing for Luo Qiao. After all, no more buffaloes would rush out to play the hero and drive him away from the gazelle's carcass. It was just that there was still a leopard in front of him, perhaps even more difficult to deal with than the buffaloes.
Monty moved closer and closer, and Luo Qiao's heart rate began to soar. He ostrich-like believed this was caused by just catching the gazelle. As for any other reason, Luo Qiao resolutely refused to admit it!
Monty dragged the gazelle he had snatched from another leopard to Luo Qiao, only to find that this cheetah had caught another one.
He might have always underestimated this cheetah's hunting ability. So, what should be done with this gazelle?
Luo Qiao bit the gazelle's neck, looked at Monty, then at the prey Monty had dragged over, twitched his ears, and remained silent. With the gazelle's neck in his mouth, he couldn't speak anyway.
"For you."
Monty flicked his tail, lowered his head to lick Luo Qiao's ear, and gently nipped the back of Luo Qiao's neck.
"But it seems you don't need it."
Who would complain about having too much food? Luo Qiao snorted from his nose.
Unfortunately, this gazelle had been dead for quite a while and had already been eaten. The meat was no longer fresh, and he and the two cheetah cubs could no longer eat it.
Luo Qiao signaled Monty to take away the gazelle carcass and dragged the other gazelle into the bushes. The two cheetah cubs immediately lowered their heads and tore at it greedily.
Seeing that Monty was still standing there, Luo Qiao said, "You eat it, we can't eat it anymore. It would be a waste to give it to us."
Cheetahs are notoriously picky eaters, but leopards had never thought they would be this picky. According to Luo Qiao's attitude, even if he hadn't caught a second gazelle, he wouldn't eat the one Monty had snatched back. In the past, it was impossible for a cheetah's prey to be snatched away and then retrieved, so there was no chance to witness how picky cheetahs could be.
"Really hard to raise."
Monty watched the three cheetahs gobbling down the gazelle carcass. Without saying anything more, he deftly dragged the gazelle carcass and climbed up the nearest tree.
While plucking the hair from the gazelle and spitting it out, Monty glanced at Luo Qiao, who occasionally raised his head to check his surroundings. Well, sure enough, looking at him made his appetite much better.
He took a bite of the gazelle meat. It was clearly still edible. Or was this cheetah just giving the gazelle to him? To express gratitude or something else?
Luo Qiao looked at Monty in the tree, puzzled. What was this leopard thinking? Why was the way he looked at him so strange? Was he plotting something again?
It had to be said that sometimes, overthinking was not a good thing. Just like the leopard Monty in his imagination, he was magnificently categorized by Luo Qiao as a villain with ulterior motives.
Beatrice also came to hunt when there were the most animals by the waterhole. Due to the successive appearances of cheetahs and leopards, the animals dared not be careless at all.
She spent some effort to catch a sub-adult male warthog, just enough for her and her two cubs to eat. From the moment Beatrice appeared, Luo Qiao became more alert. He still remembered what this female leopard had done to him last time, which had given him a psychological shadow whenever he saw strong females now.
Whenever he thought of being flicked last time, Luo Qiao felt a 'pain in the balls'.
Beatrice also saw Luo Qiao, including Monty perched in the tree. She had no intention of greeting them. Although the cheetah's silly and dazed look amused her, her hungry cubs were more important.
Monty suddenly called out to her, "Beatrice."
Beatrice raised her head and looked at Monty on the branch, and the gazelle in front of him. Although most of it had been eaten, it was still very tempting. Not only cheetahs liked gazelles, leopards liked them too. Even if the gazelle was extremely unwilling to receive this kind of 'affection', the tragic reality remained.
"That guy hasn't left yet."
"What?!" Hearing this, Beatrice dropped her prey and roared loudly at Monty, "Why didn't you kill him?!"
"I will kill him"
"Telling you this is just to warn you and the cubs to be careful."
"Got it." Beatrice sharpened her claws and growled fiercely, "You should have killed him last time!"
Monty ignored Beatrice's loud roar. The two cheetah cubs, however, were startled by the leopard's roar. Luo Qiao quickly licked them, "It's okay, keep eating."
Luo Qiao turned his head to look at Beatrice, but unexpectedly was sprayed by Beatrice's anger, "What are you looking at?! Look again and I'll mount you!"
"Roar~!"
From the tree came Monty's roar. Beatrice, however, was not afraid of him. She raised her head and roared back at Monty.
"What are you roaring for?! Roar again and I'll really mount him! If you can't kill that guy, I'll find a chance to mount him sooner or later!"
After roaring, she picked up the warthog and walked into the tall grass. She had to get back to her cubs quickly. If that male leopard dared to harm her cubs, she would definitely make him pay dearly!
Luo Qiao stared blankly as Beatrice walked away, unable to recover for a long time. A beautiful soft girl said she wanted to mount him. Should he be happy or find a place to cry? Was there a more tragic cheetah than him? Was there?
"Dad..."
"Shut up, eat your food, or you'll get a spanking!"
Luo Sen and Luo Rui looked at each other and tacitly closed their mouths, lowering their heads to continue eating heartily. Dad was angry, so it was better to be obedient.
Not long after Beatrice left, a large number of vultures began to gather. Soon, about forty or more vultures stood around the cheetah. A gazelle had been mostly eaten by the cheetah, and the remainder was not enough for these vultures.
The vultures that arrived first spread their wings to block the latecomers. To get a better position, the late vultures had to fight with the others.
Luo Sen and Luo Rui were full, their bellies bulging like balls. Luo Qiao had also rarely eaten so much. He was sure that if they weren't completely full, he and the two cheetah cubs would have continued eating until they couldn't move.
For cheetahs, overeating was also a supreme enjoyment.
Monty did not have Luo Qiao's troubles. He lay on the tree, slowly enjoying a big meal. Eagles and vultures dared not disturb a leopard eating, because they could also become a delicious meal in the leopard's mouth. Compared to the cheetah's pickiness, the leopard's lack of pickiness was also well-known.
From lizards to giraffes, from guinea fowl to ostriches, there was nothing a leopard wouldn't eat.
Monty hid the leftover gazelle in a farther tree. Unlike cheetahs, he could eat the remaining meat again.
Luo Qiao led the two cheetah cubs out of the bushes. The vultures that had been waiting immediately swooped down on the gazelle carcass. Luo Sen and Luo Rui bared their teeth at the vultures, but Luo Qiao only wanted to leave quickly.
However, he was still a step late.
After Monty hid the gazelle carcass, he blocked Luo Qiao's path, licked his lips, and his meaning was clear. He glanced at the vultures crowded together not far away.
"Here, or come with me?"
Luo Qiao drooped his ears. He didn't want to choose either.
"I already gave you the gazelle..."
"This is my territory. All the prey here belongs to me. Understand?"
Rogue! Bully! Juggernaut!
Luo Qiao was already incoherent, but he could only curse a few times in his heart. In the end, he still led the two cheetah cubs to follow behind Monty. Speaking of which, he did need Monty to lead them away from here.
He didn't know if that male leopard was still nearby. If he was hiding in some bushes and they ran into him with Luo Sen and Luo Rui, there would definitely be big trouble.
Monty led Luo Qiao away from the waterhole and escorted them all the way to the edge of his territory, stopping by an acacia tree. It was very safe here, and no signs of predators were found around.
The two cheetah cubs lay in the shade of the tree, grooming each other. Luo Qiao, however, was dragged up the tree by Monty's teeth gripping the fur on his neck. He transformed into his human form, was pressed against the branches, and his lips were blocked.
Monty held Luo Qiao's lower lip. The light gold eyes flashed a stream of light in the shadows of the branches.
"I'm always thinking about you."
His lips slid from the corner of Luo Qiao's mouth to his neck. His still sharp fangs as a human gently rubbed against Luo Qiao's skin. "Want to tear you apart and eat you..."
Want to tear you apart and eat you...
Tear apart and eat...
Eat...
The distance from being touched to being horrified was only a few words. Luo Qiao suddenly pushed Monty away and rolled to the side. Tragically, he fell straight down again...
The two cheetah cubs heard the sound and looked up to see Luo Qiao falling from the tree branch...
Luo Qiao transformed in mid-air and finally landed safely. He bared his teeth at Monty sitting in the tree.
"Eat your head!!!!"
"Dad?"
"Go, follow dad home!"
Watching Luo Qiao leave with his sons, looking heroic and high-spirited, Monty was stunned for a moment, then couldn't help but laugh and fall over on the branch.
A group of meerkats passing by under the tree discovered Monty. Several meerkats circled the tree, looking puzzled at the leopard who was rolling around laughing. What was wrong with this leopard again?
The buffalo herd that left the leopard's territory entered the territory of the Hosbby lion pride. Now, the area was mostly ruled not by the Hosbby lion pride, but by the Oros lion pride that had recently soundly defeated the Hosbby lion pride. The Hosbby lion pride had to retreat deeper into their territory to avoid the Oros lion pride.
The Oros lion pride did not exterminate the Hosbby lion pride.
The lions of the Hosbby lion pride needed time to recover. The Oros lion pride gained more territory and prey. The lionesses also needed to focus more energy on raising their cubs. Now, neither lion pride was willing to start another conflict. Thus, a temporary peace was reached between the two prides, but it was only temporary.
The Hosbby lion pride lost a third of its territory and the prey within it. For a large lion pride that had long occupied the delta, this was definitely an indelible shame! Peace would be broken sooner or later.
The buffaloes did not understand the lions' ways. They simply wanted to return to the highlands for the night according to their habits. The Hosbby lion pride currently had no cubs to feed, and the lionesses mostly hunted smaller prey, only bothering with large animals like buffaloes when they were extremely hungry.
But the Oros lion pride was different. The lionesses had their eyes on the buffaloes from the moment they appeared. Especially the pregnant female buffalo at the back of the herd attracted the attention of the lionesses.
The buffaloes knew nothing about this strange group of lions. Tonight, they would pay a bloody price for their ignorance and carelessness.
Luo Qiao returned to the rocky hill in his territory at dusk. Luo Sen and Luo Rui immediately pounced on the haystack in the rock cave, rolling happily on it. They had eaten their fill and were now back in a familiar place. They would definitely have a good sleep tonight.
Before nightfall, Luo Qiao remained vigilant about the surrounding environment on the rocky hill. Only after confirming there was no danger did he return to the rock cave.
In the darkness, the roars of lions and the barks of hyenas sounded again, accompanied by the tragic moans of buffaloes, drawing the curtain on the night.
